I feel like my brain hasn't really 100% internalised the fact that you'll suck at something for a long time before you start to get good at it.

there’s so, so much I want to do. I want to learn to paint and illustrate the world in my head, I want to learn to make music, get feelings into song, I want to learn the guitar, and I just want to do more, and I want to feel alive. but I just get discouraged so easily when I just can’t seem to do anything as well as the people I look up to and admire, and I can’t seem to kick off the fact that they’ve had years of focus compared to me

How do you make music? It’s easy:
- Just face your fears, and
- Become your heroes

I’ve been doing the same stuff for so long I think my brain just can’t treat a “bad” result as wasted time, even though that’s definitely not the case

I know how I want to do these things, I’m just not sure how to actually train my brain to do them.

Picking up skills takes time, and I need to learn to… learn, basically. I need to rediscover the joy of trying new things, and not really caring if they fail.

Bowed guitar blows my mind. Like, you can just do that!?
